Brother Mike McCombie’s Biographical Sketch:

Saved at the age of 19, called to preach at the age of 23, and ordained into the gospel ministry at age 26, Bro. McCombie has been preaching for 35 years.

His early ministry was as a church planter in the Boston, MA area from 1976-1991. There he planted two churches and also pastored a third church. Though that church was an inner city work, Bro. McCombie led the church into a faith promise mission giving program that supported 33 missionaries and projects.

Later, Bro. McCombie served 3 years as a professor of missions and Bible at the Heritage Baptist Institute, a ministry of his home church, the Cleveland Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH.  Today, many of the graduates are still serving as pastors and missionaries around the world.

Then, at the age of 45, Bro. McCombie felt the Lord’s call to be a foreign missionary, sent out of his home church and through Baptist International Missions, Inc. to the former communist country of Albania in Eastern Europe. There he served for 12 years and planted the Gospel Baptist Church in Tirana, Albania and did extensive missions work in the country of Kosovo.

Since early 2006 Bro. McCombie has been serving as the BIMI Western States Missions Representative. This work is proving vital in the ongoing work of evangelizing the world through local independent Baptist churches. His ministry assists local churches in the Western USA with their missions programs and in the calling, equipping, and sending of their missionaries. He has a passion to help equip this generation of pastors, laymen, missionaries, and full-time workers to reach the world with the gospel through God’s plan of church planting. He is also heavily involved in encouraging and counseling future missionaries and local church planting prospects being trained in several Bible colleges in the Western States and in assisting deputation and furloughing missionaries to raise their support in a timely fashion.

Bro. McCombie has been blessed with a loving and faithful wife, Wilda, for nearly 35 years. They have a daughter and son. Both children are married and serving the Lord with their families. The McCombies also have 5 precious grandchildren being raised to love and serve the Lord. He and his wife are members of Lancaster Baptist Church, Lancaster, CA, and maintain the BIMI Western States office based at the church.
